Iris Kelly Candea, Director of Heart Quest and Heart Beat, Rites of Passage since 1987, with over 15 enactments in 15 years, in New Mexico and Colorado. In addition to apprenticing with Kia Woods through Rite of Passage International, Iris studied at Naropa Institute, Passage Ways Institute, and Haleakala Waldorf School. Iris is now on faculty at Shepherd Valley Waldorf School, and has worked with children of all ages for over 20 years. Now, her passion is to assist the parents in creating a Whole environment for themselves and their children, to grow and change in. |

John Candea will lead the group in Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung exercises throughout the program. He has been practicing since 1976, and teaching groups for over 30 years. John has been practicing acupuncture since 1985, in New Mexico, Hawaii, and now for 10 years in Niwot. John makes sure the logistics during the enactment weekend are safe, organized and prepared. Together John and Iris have raised two sons in a tradition that includes Rites of Passage, at birth, age seven, ten, fourteen, eighteen and twenty one. Their sons are now 38, 27 and 17 years old, and they have each gone through this program. During the preparation time, John will work with the teens during their preparation process as well. |

Lorene Wapotich, M.Ed. Is the director and lead instructor for Her Feet On The Earth, an organization dedicated to helping women and girls develop stronger relationships with nature, their authentic selves, and a community of female mentors and role models. Lorene is an experienced wilderness guide and educator, whose work focuses on nature-based mentoring, women's leadership, girls' development, and Rites of Passage. Lorene will be working with the teens during their preparation this year. www.HerFeetOntheEarth.org
